Young swimmers splash for glory

Pupils from New Life School who are members of Sandra Botes’ Sanswem swimming school took part in their annual gala last week.
Swimmers between the ages of two and six took to the swimming pool to strut their stuff and were awarded for the year’s hard work.
They were given the opportunity to show their parents what they’ve learned at Sanswem.
Even though some of the youngsters were a bit hesitant, others persisted to show off their skills. These included holding their breath under water as long as they can, jumping in and getting back to safety.
The more advanced participants showed off various strokes which included butterfly and backstroke.
The following swimmer received their blue certificates: Musa Mnisi, Uwakile Mdluli, Mufunwa Mulaudzi, Olwethu Nkuna, Lindelwa Phatage, Lovejoy Magopane, Tiisetso Mohlabine, Lesedi Matsane, Dikeletso Mnisi, Thlangisani Ngwenyama, Cute Mazibuko, Boitumelo Khoza, Eugene Ngomane and Snegugu Ngomane. They are water safe and can swim.
Nthokoza Maseko received the trophy for best progress and Tlangisani Ngwenyama received a trophy for best potential swimmer.
Botes was very pleased with the outcome of the day and proud of all her swimmers.
Sanswem will also be doing a December holiday child-care programme from the December 16 to 22 (excluding Sunday). They can enjoy a jumping castle, lunch and cold drinks will be included. The activities will be from 09:00 to 17:00 for ages three to 12.
Fees will be R100 per child.
