Community members rally behind Knysna

Community members from Hazyview and surrounds recently rallied in superabundance behind those left homeless as a result of the Knysna fires.
What started as a mission to fill up a five-ton truck, ended up filling a 35-ton Superlink Tautliner to the very brim.
Nick Wood, who along with other employees of Matumi Fresh Produce launched the project on June 9, said he was flabbergasted by the number of people who opened their hearts to Knysna.
“As a company, we thought of possible ways to assist. We decided to set up a collection point, followed by a WhatsApp message to around 100 people. Over the course of that weekend, the message spread like wildfire. By Monday night, June 12, there was enough to fill the Superlink,” said Wood. The donations ranged from 1 500-litre water tanks to fresh water and tons of fresh produce and clothing.
