First tournament of NLSS done and dusted at Injaka Dam

The first tournament of the season’s Nabana Lodge Social Series (NLSS) kicked off at Injaka Dam on April 22.

Thirteen teams competed and team Sikani were the winners with a 7,53-kilogram sack of fish. They also took the largest-fish prize with a largemouth bass weighing 2,81.

In second place were team Stokstyf (Johan Rautenbach) with five fish of 4,73 kilogram and third were team Berkley PowerBait of Michael Cronje and Duane Cross with 4,57 kilogram of fish.

In total 41 bass were caught and cash and prizes to the value of R4 500 were handed out during the prize-giving.

All tournaments in the NLSS schedule will be counted towards a team’s point standings. There will be no dropped tournaments. Accumulating points will be based on a team’s tournament finish. First place will be awarded 50 points, second place 49 points, third place 48 points and so on.

A prize which is yet to be determined will be awarded to the team that finishes in first place in the team points championship at the end of the season.

The next NLSS tournament will take place at Sepico Dam on June 3.
