Leopard freed of snare

A female leopard which was spotted with a snare around its neck more at the beginning of July, was located three weeks later and the snare removed.

She was seen on the S3 between S1 and Kruger Gate and reported to the Facebook group “Enough is enough” by a tourist from the Free State on July 3.

According to subsequent reports, the Kruger National Park scientific services department with the Skukuza state veterinary services located her and succeeded in darting and catching her, after which the snare was removed.

She was also treated properly to prevent infection before being released again.
