The Hazyview Gymnastics Club held their annual prize-giving ceremony last Tuesday. Parents had the opportunity to see the progress their young ones had made during a demonstration and beamed with pride when medals and trophies were handed over.
The annual Magnum Rally roared through town between August 13 and 15. The competition for vintage cars and motorcycles saw around 30 participants compete to see who is the most accurate driver and knows their vehicle’s capabilities the best. Each day’s winners, as well as the overall winners in each class, were awarded prizes.
Karatekas of Hazyview, Skukuza, White River and Mbombela had spectators on the edges of their seats with fast-paced, action-packed sparring matches during Lowveld Shotokan’s annual club competition at the Kiepersol Farmers’ Hall on Saturday.
The participants of this year’s Nornan Bowls Tournament for ladies had a great time socialising, taking quirky pictures and proved to be some serious competition on the green. The competition was hosted by the Bungalows Bowls Club who ensured that all competitors walked away with a prize.

Club members and bowlers from all over the Lowveld took to the greens on May 2 to celebrate Bungalows Bowling Club’s 50th birthday. Players enjoyed a game of bowls, had delicious cake and sparkling wine was handed out to all.
Golfers from the area gathered at Sabi River Sun on April 11 for the Dave Foxon Memorial Day. The great weather added to the wonderful atmosphere, as friends and family remembered a beloved community member.
Members of the Hazyview Dojo kicked and punched their way to victory during the district championships at Hoërskool Rob Ferreira on March 21. They were part of the Lowveld district and took on dojos from Eastern Gauteng. The Hazyview dojo won the club trophy and karatekas walked away with a bag full of medals.
Lowveld Shotokan karate held their first local championships for 2015 at the Kiepersol Farmers’ Hall on Saturday. Karatekas from all over the region competed to be the best in their respective groups and organisers deemed the day a great success.
Dressed (mostly) in pink, golfers challenged each other on the Kruger Park Lodge golf course during the launch of the SANLAM Cancer Challenge on Saturday. The nationwide golf series aims to help CANSA in their fight against cancer. Players enjoyed the pristine surroundings of the golf course and the restaurant’s great food.
